Why does The UK have only two aircraft carriers while The US has 20 and France has 4? Does The UK not have money to build a massive navy like other superpowers?
France has four aircraft carriers like I have four testicles.
France has one primary naval air power projection platform. Charles De Gaulle.
She's a beautiful piece of engineering and has a storied history. She absolutely is not four aircraft carriers, however.
Britain has two aircraft carriers. Or at least, will soon have two. Non-nuclear ones. I’m not sure why, really. Do you suppose that launching man-controlled planes from a deck is the future of warfare? Even against France?
Do we need them to defend against America?
I'm pretty sure we don't. If we do, some heads-up would be appreciated.
We're basically siblings at this point, France and Britain. We love each other even as we make fun of each other. We've been through some horrific bullshit and emerged stronger for it. We don't always agree, but in times of crisis, we're always there for each other.
That's not a war that's likely to happen. France can do whatever the fuck France wants to do. If you mess with them, we'll fuck you up. I assume the reverse sentiment is true too.
We're not worried about how many carriers France or America have. They're on our fucking side.
The question we really need to be asking is “who gives a shit"?
It's alarming to me that people keep asking questions like this. You're aware that we're all on the same side, right? You're aware that even if the United States attacked France, we'd be among the first to defend the frog-eating twats from you, right? You're aware that this whole “my dad's tougher than your dad” mentality died with our WW2 casualties, right?
Please be aware of it. We are all on the correct side of history.
